HANDBALLING / FISTING

handballing | Slang mainly used in North America, refers to anal sex, using the fist. To attempt to place one's entire hand, or both hands, into another's anus, and then balled up into a fist, though not always.

Meaning

Not fully considered SM due to its need for both parties to provide assistance, in accomplishing the act.

Additionally, it can be a sexual activity on its own, where there is no dominant partner, meaning that both are seeking the satisfaction of being both the giver, and the receiver.

Fisting, while conjures the idea of a clenched hand being inserted into the rectum, the reality is that this usually is only done, once the hand is fully inserted.

Further, it does not always occur where all fingers of the hand, can be inserted, though still referred to as being fist fucked.

Proper lubricants, and nail care are essential. Long nails by the one doing the fisting is a major injury risk.

Techniques

The Silent Duck is the technique most often used, where the person engaging in hand insertion makes a beak-like shape with their hand resembling a duck. Typically, fisting does not involve forcing the clenched fist into the rectum. Instead, all five fingers are kept straight and held as close together as possible (forming the beak-like "duck"), then slowly inserted into a well-lubricated rectum^.

Double Fist/Side Prayer is a very advanced technique which only few are capable of achieving. The person engaging in hand insertion (the fister) places their hands palm to palm forming a position similar to one used when praying. Handler then turns theirs parallel to the floor, pointing fingers towards subject's vagina and/or anus.

Fistees who are more experienced may take two fists (double-fisting) in the rectum. In the case of double-fisting, pleasure is derived more from the stretching of the anus than from the thrusting (in-and-out) movement of hands^.  Some fistees also enjoy deeper penetration, in which the hand is inserted further into the sigmoid colon.

For anal fisting a lubricant is typically used. Crisco is a popular lubricant for this purpose amongst the gay/BDSM communities, with other personal lubricants such as J-Lube and silicone based products also very popular

Sex involving insertion of the hand into the anus. Though possible, rarely is the hand initially inserted while balled in a fist. The hand enters the anus slowly while the fingers are straight and together, then balled into a fist once fully inserted. "Punching" is the term used when the hand is forcefully inserted while initially in a fist. Done properly, anal fisting stimulates the prostate.
